Algarve Pro Oreca – From Delay To Delight

0 11

Less than 24 Hours after arriving late – very late after a catalogue of bad luck, Stewart Cox and his Algarve Pro Racing squad rolled out this stunning effort as the #24 Oreca 07 that will carry the team’s name through the 2021 European Le Mans Series.

The car emerged from the delayed container as a rather dusty specimen requiring a full strip down after a somewhat eventful Asian Le Mans Series as the Racing Team India car!

Now fully resettled the car – for Ferdinand von Habsburg, Richard Bradley and Diego Menchaca, carries the colours of the ‘Drive fast – Act Faster’ campaign to create carbon-neutral racing.

The first step on that road came this week with 10 acres of rainforest in the Narupa Reserve in Ecuador now protected in the name of the team – with the campaign aiming to add very substantially to that total as the campaign moves forward.

The finished article presented at scrutineering this evening is not only a great looking car, it’s quite unlike anything else on the ELMS grid – a fit that this sometimes hard-pressed TV commentator is VERY grateful for!
