Man Cup: Wiseco Street Fighter Rule Change

Effective immediately, the following rules changes will go into effect in Wiseco Street Fighter.

  • Traditional slick and wheelie bar drag bikes will be allowed to compete.
  • All current and readily available clutches (Sliders, Hand Sliders, Gen II and Lockup Clutches) are permitted.
  • Two-step starting line rev-limiters and delay timers are permitted.

The new rules package will go into effect at the upcoming MTC Nationals presented by MPS Racing at SGMP on April 30 – May 2, 2021. These rule changes are designed to more keep up with current trends in motorcycle drag racing as well as hopefully increase participation in the class overall.

Full Street Fighter Rules

Street Fighter is an index class contested at ManCup National events and is considered the entry point into index racing. Most bikes compete with either big displacement normal aspirated motors to nitrous or turbocharged machines with a D.O.T street tire or drag slick and with or without the aid of wheelie bars. All compete with a heads-up, pro tree start. Street Fighter is run on an all run qualified field, based on a standard of 9.50 1/4 mile and 6.10 1/8th mile index. Standard safety is a requirement. During qualifying, runs quicker than the 9.50/6.10 index will be placed at the bottom of the qualifying sheet. During eliminations, runs quicker than the standard disqualify the rider under “break-out” procedures. All entries may be either self-starting or via use of a starter cart.
