Inter-Europol Confirm Two-car LMP3 Entry For Barcelona ELMS Season Opener

0 8

After Covid-related travel issues cost the InterEuropol Competition squad their originally-planned crew for the team’s #14 Ligier JS P320 effort in the 2021 European Le Mans Series, the team have been working hard to find a replacement crew to keep the car on the grid.

Happily DSC can confirm that they have been successful and the Polish-flagged team will field both planned LMP3 cars at next weekend’s Barcelona season-opener.

There’s news too of the third driver who will join Martin Hippe and Ugo de Wilde in the sister #13 Ligier – they’ll be joined by quick French driver Julien Falchero.

The #14 Ligier LMP3 meanwhile will be shared by the only Lithuanian driver in the 2021 championship Julius Adomavicius, and two Italian drivers; Alessandro Bracalente and
Mattia Pasini. Mattia Pasini comes from Moto2 where he scored two race wins, and will make his debut in
sportscars.

Sascha Fassbender (team manager): “I am very happy that we managed to get two cars on
the grid in Barcelona. After all the problems we had in the run-up to the race, I am especially happy for our mechanics who had been preparing everything for the use of the two cars for weeks. With Alessandro, Julius and Mattia we are strong in all areas and nothing stands in the way of a successful ELMS season. On the #13 car, we have a very strong team with Julien, Ugo and Martin. With a good mix of young light-heartedness and experience, we will be attacking the championship again this year after three years of runner-up finishes. I am very happy that Julien is helping us with this mission.”

#13 Julien Falchero: “I am very happy to join the Inter Europol Competition team for the ELMS season in LMP3. I would like to thank the team for giving me the opportunity to race this season, and I can’t wait to start working with my new teammates. Our goal will be to win the championship, and I am confident we can do it.”

#14 Julius Adomanvicius: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to contribute to the Inter Europol Competition family. Last year I did one race at Portimao and it tasted like more. Driving the LMP3 is going to be an exciting new experience in my career. I hope we can achieve the desired result.”

#14 Mattia Pasini: “I am so happy to start my new adventure with this team and together we will see where we can go with this. I expect to be competitive and have fun and enjoy the ELMS. We will see how my debut will be on four wheels. Can’t wait.”

#14 Alessandro Bracalente: “I want to say thanks to the team to have made joining them
possible in a very few days. Obviously, I will do my best with my teammates to get the best possible result and make us proud and happy.”
