Farr Ready to Fly for Extended Speedway Australia WA Speedweek

0 8

In awesome news for the 2020-21 Sprintcar Speedweek, Robbie Farr is a confirmed starter for the quick-fire run of dates in Western Australia.

The Schedule makes mouth-watering reading – for the first time ever, Speedway Australia Speedweek expands to 6 rounds:

26th December – AAA Metal Recycling Boxing Day – Perth Motorplex $5K to Win
28th December – Merger Contracting Sprintcar Muster – Perth Motorplex $5K to Win
1st January – Speedweek round 3 – Make Smoking History Bunbury Speedway
2nd January – Maddington Toyota Summer Slam – Allwest Plant Hire Ellenbrook Speedway
6th January – Whoop Ass Wednesday – Perth Motorplex $5K to Win
9th January – WA Speedweek Grand Final $10K to Win.

After an extended stint with the Sydney based Waldron-ECP team that ended last season, Farr’s 2020 plans geared around the WA-based, Jason Pryde Motorsport team.

“When the ECP deal ended, I was looking for a ride and it wasn’t long after that Jason (Pryde) reached out to me,” the now Queensland-based driver explained.

“It was really important to find a good, fun, team environment…somewhere that I wanted to enjoy the journey of racing…. For however many years I have left in the sport. I liked Jason the moment I first met him…I could tell he was switched on.”

What makes the Pryde partnership more imposing, is the crew support assembled.

“Jason has a great inventory of gear and with Glen Beaton as crew chief, we should have a strong combination for sure, with his awesome track record.”

Farr and the team were keen to get back onto the road with World Series Sprintcars this summer and that remains a strong aim for the team once we stride past the COVID-reality we currently live in, but the upcoming Sprintcar stint in WA excites Farr and he knows it will be no easy ride.

“It might take us a meeting or two to get really get going, I haven’t raced since Murray Bridge back in February. It’s been 10 years since I have raced properly at the Motorplex and that could present some interesting challenges.”

“I have to say watching some of the recent rounds there (Motorplex) online… its looking really racy over there.”

Farr has served as somewhat of a mentor to Callum Williamson in the recent past – and he’s noted the young charger’s hot run of recent form.

“Callum… he’s fast as… his team are a good bunch of guys. It’s not just him either – the local guys there are tough. David Priolo will be tough in the Diamond Bay car, his brother isn’t slow either and of course Jason Kendrick, Daniel Harding, the Maiolos’ and others are bloody quick too.”

Speedway Australia Sprintcar Speedweek kicks into high gear at Perth Motorplex, Boxing Day.

ENDS RELEASE.
