6 Race Provisional 2021 FIA WEC Calendar

0 5

The FIA WEC has announced a provisional 2021 calendar, as expected featuring 6 races, for the season that will see the debut of the new Le Mans Hypercars.

With the usual current provisos around the potential difficulties that might arise from the ongoing COVID19 crisis, the World Championship is set to start with Super Sebring, the double header in March with IMSA’s 12 Hours of Sebring.

The season then moves to Europe with the now traditional Spa 6 Hours followed by the Le Mans 24 Hours.

Round three takes the Championship to Monza for the first ever WEC race at the historic Italian debut, the long-time ELMS/ WEC double-header at Silverstone does not feature in 2021, before a short flyaway end to the season at Fuji and Bahrain, the Gulf state currently slated for a 6-hour race, something that might well be set to change before the calendar is finalised.

2021 FIA WEC Schedule (Provisional)

13-14 March: Pre-Season Test (Sebring)
19 March: 1000 Miles of Sebring
1 May: 6 Hours of Spa
12/13 June: 24 Hours of Le Mans
18 July: 6 Hours Monza
26 September: 6 Hours of Fuji
20 November: 6 Hours of Bahrain
