LMP Notebook – Graff ORECA To Perform Le Mans Road Run Tomorrow – Ligier Live Art Car For Le Mans
The #39 Graff Racing ORECA 07 Gibson, bound for the 2019 Le Mans 24 Hours with So24 backing will have a brief run on the Streets of Le Mans tomorrow as part of the pre-race build up.
The car, driven at the race by Tristan Gommendy and Jonathan Hirschi will be driven to the Place des Jacobins by local driver Vincent Capillaire who is set to complete the squad for Le Mans.

Ligier JS P4 ‘Art Car’ To Be Created During 2019 Le Mans 24 Hours
With special liveries aplenty still to be revealed ahead of the Le Mans 24 Hours there’s one ‘Art Car’ that has been confirmed for Le Mans in 2019, though it won’t be racing!
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Ligier make founded in 1969 by Guy Ligier, Ligier Automotive has launched a project with French artist Nairone Defives. The project features an Art Car Ligier JS P4 set to be painted in front of the fans in 24 hours during the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
“A 50th anniversary is a very important event, explains Jacques Nicolet, President of Ligier Automotive. We wanted to mark this anniversary. The idea of an Art Car rapidly sprung to mind. An Art Car to tell our story, our debut in endurance, the 20 seasons in F1, Jacques Laffite and the make’s revival since 2013.
“We will have six Ligier JS P217s on the track and at the heart of the Village of the 24 Hours an Art Car will be painted in front of the fans”.
“An anniversary Art Car in 24 hours on the clock, exclaims Nairone. How could I say no? It was only afterwards that I realised what I’d taken on. 24 hours, it’s one hell of a challenge for me! The car will be my canvas. The Ligier JS P4 has aggressive dynamic lines. But I’m not to let that intimidate me. It’ll be her and me together for 24 hours with the public and the fans following my every brush stroke!”
On Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 June during the test sessions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Nairone will prepare his canvas on the carbon chassis of the Ligier JS P4. The carbon will be entirely covered by white paint by the artist to allow him to create his piece of art. Armed with his black brush, Nairone will start the Art Car on Saturday 15 June at 3 pm at the start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and finish on Sunday 16 June at 3 pm.
