Nationals vs. Cubs 2017 live stream: Time, TV channel, and how to watch NLDS Game 4 online
The Washington Nationals will try to stay alive on Tuesday evening in their National League Division Series against the Chicago Cubs, but will need some offense in Game 4 (5:30 p.m. ET, TBS) to get things going at Wrigley Field.
Max Scherzer took a no-hitter into the seventh inning of Game 3 on Monday but Washington lost 2-1, with the Cubs rallying for runs in the seventh and eighth innings.
Outside of a pair of home runs by Bryce Harper and Ryan Zimmerman in the eighth inning in Game 2, the Nationals offense has been nonexistent in this series. Even with that five-run inning, Washington has scored just seven runs in three games, hitting .121/.200/.231 as a team.
“We are usually good at getting multiple hits, and we couldn’t string together multiple hits,” Nationals manager Dusty Baker said after Monday’s loss. “But you know, we know that it’s right around the corner, and our back’s against the wall, so we’ve got to get them tomorrow. We’ve got to get those hits, and hopefully they don’t.”
Then again, the Cubs haven’t fared much better with the bats, hitting .179/.294/.298 while scoring all of eight runs in three games. Yet they are one win away from advancing to their third consecutive NLCS.
Jake Arrieta starts for the Cubs, with Tanner Roark on the mound for the Nationals in Game 4.

Cubs vs. Nationals news & notes
Game 4 of the Cubs-Nationals NLDS is the only playoff game on Tuesday’s schedule, but Major League Baseball on Monday announced the 5:38 p.m. ET start time — 4:38 p.m. in Chicago — would remain. There is heavy rain in the forecast later at night, so starting the game later, in prime time, would have increased the likelihood of delays or postponement.
The Nationals remain confident despite their offensive struggles. Patrick Reddington of Federal Baseball has more:
“We’re right there,” Jayson Werth (1 for 10) said when asked about the offensive issues.
“Playoff games are crazy. Sometimes they’re low-scoring, sometimes they’re high-scoring. It just hasn’t gone our way just yet. We’ve still got a big game tomorrow and get this series back to D.C. I like our chances.”
Javier Baez, who started the first two games of the series at second base but didn’t start on Monday, is back in the lineup in Game 4, batting eighth.
