NASCAR at the Glen 2017 Race Day Weather: Is there enough threat of rain for rain tires?
There’s a slight chance of rain Sunday afternoon but will it be enough to see NASCAR’s main cup series race on rain tires?
The forecast has changed since Friday for Watkins Glen International and the Monster Energy Cup I love New York 35 at the Glen. An isolated storm is now possible in the afternoon. Of course those fans who are just dying to see NASCAR’s top series put on the rain tires and run in the rain may still be waiting. Yes, there is a chance but the threat is very small. About 90 to 95 percent of the area near the track should remain dry. We are talking isolated storms, so there will likely be more misses than hits.
The odds of racing the Monster Energy NASCAR Series I Love New York 355 at the Glen is 100 percent, since if it does rain, they have rain tires.
