99 saturnSL1 cranks but wont turnover randomly.

My 99saturn SL1 has been randomly not been able to start. Lights come on dash but no dinging sound. When I dont hear tha door dings I know Im fuct and its not going to start. That being said tha last 3 times it wouldnt start I had to stay in my car and wait it out. After awhile it just starts to ding again and starts just fine. Whats going on?
