LSU Athletics Hall of Fame 2025: 6 elected for induction

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) -- LSU Athletics announced six people who have been elected for Hall of Fame induction in 2025.

A requirement for nominees selected by the election board is to have earned a college degree. The induction ceremony will be on Friday, Sept. 19, at the Manship Theatre in Baton Rouge.

“Each of the inductees in our 2025 Hall of Fame class epitomizes athletics excellence and a commitment to character and integrity,” said LSU Director of Athletics Scott Woodward. “This prestigious honor is well-earned based on the significant contributions each of these outstanding individuals has made to our university.”

Here's what to know about each former LSU coach and student-athlete of the induction class for 2025.

John Brady

  • Men’s basketball head coach from 1997 to 2008.
  • Directed the LSU Tigers to the 2006 Final Four.
  • Honored as SEC Basketball Legend in 2018.
  • Voted SEC Coach of the Year in 2000 and 2006.
  • Coached 3 SEC Players of the Year: Stromile Swift, Brandon Bass and Glen Davis.
  • Coached 4 SEC Freshmen of the Year: Torris Bright, Brandon Bass, Glen Davis and Tyrus Thomas.
  • Where is he now? Works as a color analyst on LSU Sports Radio Network.

J. Perry Cole

  • LSU men's golf coach from 1933-43.
  • Directed the LSU Tigers to five SEC titles and NCAA Championships in 1940 and 1942.
  • Worked at LSU as math professor, dean of student affairs and director of student life.
  • Helped create the LSU Athletics Hall of Fame.
  • Inducted into Golf Coaches Association of America Hall of Fame in 2012.
  • Inducted into the LSU College of Science Hall of Distinction and LSU Ole War Skule Hall of Honor in 2021.

Rheagan Courville

  • LSU gymnast from 2012 to 2015.
  • 23-time gymnastics All-American.
  • Claimed NCAA vault national championships in 2013 and 2014.
  • SEC all-around and vault champion in 2013 and 2015.
  • SEC beam champion in 2013.
  • Voted SEC Gymnast of the Year in 2013.
  • Voted Central Region Gymnast of the Year in 2013 and 2014.
  • Four-time member of SEC Academic Honor Roll.
  • Where is she now? Works as the top sales representative for GK Elite sportswear.

Ronald Dupree

  • LSU men's basketball player from 2000-03.
  • One of five LSU players to rank in school's career Top 10 in scoring and rebounding.
  • Three-time All-SEC selection.
  • Helped lead LSU to SEC regular season title and NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 in 2000.
  • Ranked in the career Top 10 in school annals in:
    • Points scored (1,726)
    • Rebounds (907)
    • Games played (129)
    • Double-figure games (88)
  • Played six seasons in the NBA.
  • Where is he now? Works as general manager for LSU men's basketball.

Cornelia Gayden

  • LSU women’s basketball player from 1992-95.
  • 1995 All-American.
  • Three-time All-SEC selection.
  • No. 1 on LSU's career three-point field goals.
  • No. 1 in school history for most three-pointers made in single season (105 in 1994-95).
  • Holds LSU record for most points in a game.
    • 49 points in LSU vs. Jackson State on Feb. 9, 1995.
  • No. 4 on LSU's all-time scoring list (2,451 points)
  • No. 9 on school's career rebounding list (894 rebounds)
  • No. 5 on LSU's all-time field goals made list (829 field goals).

Temeka Johnson

  • LSU women’s basketball player from 2002 – 2005.
  • Four-time All-American.
  • Winner of 2005 Nancy Libermann Award as nation's best point guard.
  • No. 1 on LSU's all-time assists list with 945, No. 8 in NCAA Division I history.
  • Holds LSU record for assists in a game.
    • 17 in LSU vs. Georgia on March 5, 2005.
  • NCAA Regional All-Tournament selection in 2004 and 2005.
  • Helped lead Tigers to Final Four appearances in 2004 and 2005.
  • Voted 2005 WNBA Rookie of the Year.
  • Won WNBA championship with Phoenix Mercury in 2009.
