Class of 2024 Wildcats inducted to the K-State Athletics Hall of Fame
MANHATTAN (KSNT)- Kansas State athletics' celebrated its 2024 Hall of Fame class.
This year there are ten members including Jacob Pullen, Kevin Lockett, Carl and Mary Ice and Deb Patterson.
Being back in Manhattan can feel nostalgic and joyful for all, even for people with a spot in the Hall of Fame. Jacob Pullen played in the purple and white from 2007 to 2011, and being one of the best to do it on the court in Manhattan.
Now, his name is etched into the school's history.
"Amazing. Like I said, It's never something I dreamed of. It's never I was just a 16/17 year old kid coming to K-State didn't think I would be in the Hall of Fame," Pullen said. "And I was just experiencing college and now to be able to be inducted to the Hall of Fame after all the hard work, it's a blessing."
Kim Zschau, ranks in the Top three in K-State's Volleyball program for attacks, as well as two-time all Big 12 First team selection in 1997 and 1998. And to top off her career, a special honor from her alma mater.
"It's surreal. It's hard to explain. I think when I got the call, I was just like, I can't believe this, you know?," Zschau said. "So I think it's just kind of taking it all in and slowly. It's been just an honor. Totally an honor."
Starting off the family legacy in 1992, Kevin Lockett has found it remarkable to follow many Wildcats before him that have meant so much to K-State.
"When I was walking in, I got the chance to look at the wall and to see all of the just fantastic people that have come in Michael Bishop, David Allen, Vaniers, just a lot of people that have really meant a lot to K-State athletics," Lockett said. "And to be included in that list and then to come in even with the classes coming in alongside me in 2024, it's just absolutely remarkable."
The class will be recognized at the season-opener game at Bill Snyder Family stadium on the field Saturday, Aug. 31.
