WICHITA, Kan. – Lisa Hibbs, currently serving as an Academic Success Coach at Friends University, has been named as the Director of Student-Athlete Success for the Falcon Athletic Department.

"We are grateful for our continued strong partnership with the Academic Dean's office and faculty," said Dr. Rob Ramseyer, Friends University Director of Athletics.

"We are ecstatic to be working more closely with Lisa in her new role.  She brings a wealth of experience to the role and will make a significant impact on the experience of our student-athletes. Our academic support team is second to none in the NAIA and we are always appreciative of their willingness to assist our student-athletes and athletic department."

Hibbs' expertise in academic excellence for student-athletes includes over 25 years of experience in running an NCAA D-I athletic academic center.

She is set to be the contact person for all student-athletes, assisting with student-athletes that need a boost academically while also serving as an advisor for student-athletes that are undecided on a major or have switched to Liberal Studies.

"The faculty and Academic Dean's office is partnering with Athletics to develop a premier student-athlete academic support program in the NAIA," said Dr. Preston Todd, Friends University Associate Academic Dean.

"Lisa is moving into this exciting new role to help us take the next steps. She is a leader in this area who cares deeply about helping students achieve their academic and career goals while balancing collegiate athletics."

Hibbs will also continue in her role of advising and working with graduate students pursuing their master's degree.

"I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the Falcon student-athletes," said Hibbs.  "It's an exciting time for Falcon Athletics with the investments being made in facilities and now in academic support for the student-athlete.  It shows the priority that everyone here at Friends, from the President to the Athletic Department, has put on athletics and academic excellence."
