[Indoor Track & Field] Indiana Tech claims Men's Indoor Crown

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - (complete results) - Indiana Tech put on a display, racking up a record 273.5 points to win its seventh-consecutive Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship at the Alksnis Athletics and Recreation Building. The Warriors had seven individual champions, including Matteo Madrassi in the pole vault. His winning height of 16-5.5 earned his Most Outstanding Performer with the NAIA-best mark. Malik Johnson was named Newcomer of the Year as a two-time champion in the long jump and triple jump while head coach Doug Edgar took home his seventh Coach of the Year nod. 

Runner-up Aquinas scored 153 points and head coach Mike Wojciakowski earned Champions of Character Coach. Cornerstone finished third with 87.5 points behind Most Valuable Performer Joey DeBoer's two wins. The senior won the mile and 1000 meters. Team mate Colin De Young set a conference meet record in the 5000 meters with a time of 15:01.15. Madonna finished fourth with 85 points and Siena Heights was fifth with 73. Concordia and Rochester rounded out the scoring with 17 points and 1 point respectively.
