[Indoor Track & Field] Aquinas wins Women's Indoor Track & Field

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - (Complete Results) - Aquinas won the 2019 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship at the Alksnis Athletics and Recreation Building compiling 190 points. It's the seventh WHAC Indoor title for the Saints and the first since 2009. The win broke Indiana Tech's title streak of eight as the Warriors finished second with 175 points.

Senior Alexis Miller was named Most Valuable Performer after she broke the meet record in the 800 meters with a time of 2:17.5. She also won the mile and was third in the 3000 meters. Aquinas head coach Mike Wojciakowski was named Coach of the Year for the first time in his career and was voted as the Champions of Character Coach for his commitment to the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

Indiana Tech's Destiny Copeland also broke a meet record with her winning distance of 19-10.75 in the long jump for Newcomer of the Year and to share Most Outstanding Performer with Mildrenae Young-Brooks of Siena Heights who won the 60 meter hurdles. SHU finished third with 141 points while Cornerstone ended in fourth with 120 points. Madonna (53), Concordia (11), and Rochester (7) rounded out the scoring
