Game Thread #75: A’s and White Sox

The A’s try to sweep the doubleheader!

Well, that was a fun game. The A’s destroyed the White Sox behind baby Franklin Barreto, as he hit not one, but two three-run home runs in the game. Fun fact:

Other players did things too; really everyone got involved in support of Sean Manaea to take the first game 11-2.

Now the A’s regroup and play the second game, with a win already behind them and Chris Bassitt on the mound. But we’d like two!

Another fun fact. Coming off the sad drubbing last week by Houston, the A’s really played the Angels’ weekend series well, taking the last two games in dramatic fashion, followed by winning an exciting game in Petco Tuesday and the offensive blast on Wednesday. With this afternoon’s win, the A’s have put together a 5-game win streak; their longest of the year.
