Finland secures best U20 athletics medal haul in decades

Finland’s young athletes delivered their strongest performance in more than 20 years at the European Athletics U20 Championships, winning seven medals on home soil in Tampere.
The tally of four silvers and three bronzes was Finland’s highest at the biennial event since 1999, when the team claimed 10 medals in Latvia. It also surpassed the previous century’s record of five medals, achieved in 2001, 2017 and 2021.
