Edward Cabrera pitches Marlins to shutout win over Athletics
Right-hander Edward Cabrera allowed just two hits over eight shutout innings, rookie Charles Leblanc hit a home run and the Miami Marlins opened a three-game series against the host Oakland Athletics with a 3-0 victory Monday night.
Brian Anderson and JJ Bleday added RBI doubles for the Marlins, who responded to a three-game shellacking in Los Angeles by the Dodgers to win for just the sixth time in their last 17 games.
