No. 8 Soccer aces Kansas in lone exhibition, 6-0

LAWRENCE, Kan. – No. 8 Arkansas soccer defeated the Kansas Jayhawks, 6-0, in the squad’s only preseason tune-up.

Forward Anna Podojil found the net in the seventh minute, and the Razorbacks didn’t let up for the remainder of the match.

Juniors Ellie Podojil and Ava Tankersley, sophomore Van Fitch, and freshmen Ella Riley and Zoe Shepherd rounded out the rest of Arkansas’ scoring contingent.

Tankersley led the team with six shots.

“It was good to get a match in against a good Kansas team. We played away so we fine-tuned some travel logistics as well. We were good at some very different things than our intrasquad match, so we will need to piece them all together this week.”

The Hogs will kick off the regular season at Saint Louis on Thursday, Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. CT.
