Hogs Everywhere in ITA Regional Finals

LINCOLN, Neb. – There were Hogs all over the place in the semifinals of the ITA Central Regional Championships in Lincoln. Two doubles teams, the pairings of Riccardo Trione/Oscar Pinto Sansano and Melvin Manuel/Adrien Burdet, and one singles player, Aleksa Bucan, were all in semifinal action Saturday with the chance to book their ticket in the championship match. And the Hogs delivered. 

All three chances to make the final were taken, as both doubles teams won their matches, setting an all-Arkansas final, and Bucan took down the No. 1 seed, Mason Beiler from OU, to secure his spot in the singles final.

Of the five Razorbacks in championship matches, four are sophomores (Bucan, Manuel, Trione, Burdet) and one is a freshman (Pinto Sansano). 

Doubles Results:

No. 3 Melvin Manuel/Adrien Burdet (ARK) def. No. 2 Nathan Han/Alex Martinez (OU), 7-6(5), 6-1

Riccardo Trione/Oscar Pinto Sansano (ARK) def. Dario Huber/Victor Moreno Lozano (UNL), 6-3, 7-6(5)

Singles Results:

Aleksa Bucan (ARK) def. No. 1 Mason Beiler (OU), 7-5, 3-6, 6-4

Bucan will face No. 6-seed Jordan Hasson from Oklahoma in the singles championship at 10 a.m. Monday morning. The Arkansas doubles teams of Trione/Pinto Sansano and Manuel/Burdet will face off for the gold also at 10 a.m.
