Men’s Tennis to Host Pro Tournament This Week

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas men’s tennis program will welcome some of the top young players in the world to the Billingsley Tennis Center this week when it hosts the ITF tournament as part of the USTA Legacy Bank NWA Tennis Series, Sept. 20-26. The Hogs are hosting the pro-level tournament for the second straight year, having held the same tournament in November 2020.

The main draw is stacked with some of the best young talent in the sport, including the NCAA 2021 singles champion Sam Riffice from Florida, British star Paul Jubb, who is a part of South Carolina’s squad and qualified for the Wimbledon main draw in 2019, and American Toby Kodat who made it to the second round of the 2019 U.S. Open.

The tournament will also feature some veteran ATP talent like Sekou Bangoura, who has competed in several ATP Challenger events and was ranked inside the ATP top 250 in 2016.

All 12 Razorbacks are slated to compete in the tournament. Arkansas Frenchman Alex Reco will look to build off of a second-place finish in the ITF event in Plaisir, France, last week.

There will be no spectators for this week’s event. Fans can follow along with the action by clicking here. Select matches will be streamed on Play Sight.
