Arkansas MGolf Set for Legends Collegiate

FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas’ men’s golf program will compete in its second of three fall events this weekend at the Vanderbilt Legends Collegiate, played Oct. 25-27 at Vanderbilt’s Legends Club North Course (par 72, 7,190-yards).

The event will feature all 14 SEC men’s golf programs, marking the second straight event all SEC programs will gather.

Arkansas opened the season with a third-place finish in its own Blessings Collegiate Invitational, presented by Tyson Foods, earlier this month. The Razorbacks were led by Segundo Oliva Pinto, Manual Lozada and Julian Perico.

Oliva Pinto tied for eighth with a 1-under-par score of 215. It was his seventh career top 10 and he has posted 36 of his 56 career rounds at par or better. Lozada, who made his collegiate debut at the BCI, finished 18th and climbed nearly 500 spots in the World Amateur Rankins. Perico carded a final-round 71 to climb 11 spots and finish tied for 21st.

New to the lineup for the Legends Collegiate will be graduate senior Mason Overstreet and redshirt freshman Denver Davis.

Overstreet missed the season opened due to illness and enters his final season with a career scoring average of 72.042 to rank second on the school’s all-time scoring list. The 2017 NCAA runner-up has posted 59 career round at par or better to rank second in Razorback history and his 459 career birdies are third best.

Davis will be making his collegiate debut this weekend. The Fayetteville product redshirted last season was a two-time All-State performer and held Fayetteville High School to three state championships.
