MICA Tournament – Sunday, February 15

Exciting news – our club will be hosting a MICA (Multi-Sites Indoor Championships of the Americas) Tournament on Sunday, February 15th at Saanich Commonwealth Place. MICA is an indoor virtual competition shot across various host sites in the Americas.

Upcoming Instructor of Beginner Archers coaching clinic

We have been approved for an Instructor of Beginner Archers Coaching Course, which will be held in the winter or spring. If you are interested, please have a look at the requirements on the BC Archery Coaching page. The course will be held locally with Victoria Bowmen instructors. If you are interested, please leave your name with the President. The Victoria Bowmen will assist in funding successful participants.

Range Safety Officers and Judges needed

We are always in need of some more Range Safety Officers (RSOs) to help run our club shoots safely. If you’d like to get certified, the training is free and all online, and the test is ‘open book’. You’ll find more details on the Archery Canada Website. Once you’ve completed it, you can then be added to the club list of RSOs.

We also need some qualified Judges to help officiate tournaments. If you’re interested in taking the training for this, please contact Al Wills for more information.

Also, if you’re interested in helping out with JOP, Drop-in shoots, or classes, please let us know!

Have you renewed your club membership for 2026?

Yes, another reminder, but we need to ensure if you’re shooting that you’re paid up and covered by the mandatory insurance included in your membership – this is a requirement of Archery Canada, BC Archery, and Saanich Commonwealth (for our indoor shoots). If you’re not a member and not insured, you can’t shoot! So be sure to display your current card clearly.
