Upcoming club shoot changes
Just a reminder that there is no JOP or regular club shoot on Sunday, December 14th as we are holding our Holiday Jamboree Tournament that day.
There are also no club shoots on the following days:
- Thursday, December 25th
- Thursday, January 1st
Please check the club calendar regularly for any changes.
Renew your memberships by Dec. 31!
Just a few short weeks left in the year so if you haven’t done so already, it’s time to renew your club memberships for 2026! Or if you’ve been waiting to join, now’s the time to do it! It’s a quick process via our website and after completing your membership application, you’ll receive a link to a PDF file of your membership card that you can print out. Club president Al Wills has the club laminator if you would like your card laminated.
Remember, the insurance included in your membership is a requirement of Archery Canada, BC Archery, and Saanich Commonwealth (for our indoor shoots). If you’re not a member and not insured, you can’t shoot! So be sure to display your card clearly so we know you’re good to go.
Click here to join or renew your membership today.
- Current members have until December 31 to renew.
- New memberships purchased between October 1 and December 31 will last until the end of the next calendar year.
- Lifetime members will need to get a coupon code from our Membership Director.
BC Indoor Championships 2026
Mark your calendars: Victoria Bowmen, along with Pacific Archery Academy, will be hosting the 2026 BC Indoor Championships April 3-5 at Westshore Parks and Recreation Center (formerly Juan de Fuca). We want as many members as possible to shoot, but we will also need volunteers to help run the tournament, so if you are able to help out, it would be greatly appreciated! Stay tuned for more details.
Honouring two members of our archery community
As you probably know, Victoria Bowmen member Frank Perry passed away on November 30th. In honour of Frank, a Celebration of Life will be held on January 24th, 2026 at the South Vancouver Island Rangers (SVIR) from 1 – 4 PM and will include some 3D and target shooting – so archers bring your bows!
And on another sad note, Bruce Peters, long-time member of the Cowichan Bowmen, also passed away recently. The Cowichan Bowmen will be holding a memorial luncheon in honour of both Frank and Bruce on January 1st at 12:30 in the clubhouse. Please come out and share some stories about these two pillars of our archery community.
Thank you to Bill Jensen and Ruby Eliason
We would like to sincerely thank Bill Jensen and Ruby Eliason for donating a bunch of arrows to our club! Their generous donation of this equipment is very much appreciated.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
From everyone on the club’s Board of Directors, we wish all of our members a safe, happy and enjoyable Christmas and New Year!
