Victoria Bowmen Meeting Minutes May 29, 2025

Attendance:

Greg Birtwistle, Al Wills, Helena Myllyniemi, Andrew Engelhardt, Brad Barclay, Sofija Jewell, Rowan Kew, Frank Perry, Vesa Myllyniemi

1. CALL TO ORDER

• The meeting was called to order by the President at 6:30pm

2. CHAIRMAN’S OPENING REMARKS

• The President read an Indigenous land acknowledgment and welcomed everyone to the meeting.

3. CORRESPONDENCE

• None to report

4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING

5. REPORTS

• President/Vice President:
  • Club is doing well, lots of classes and busy club and JOP shoots.
  • Club and Saanich Commonwealth have reviewed and resolved a potential WorkSafe BC regulation issue.
• Treasurer:
  • Club finances are in good shape.
  • Treasurer’s report accepted:

6. BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES

• None

7. NEW BUSINESS

• President proposed Al Wills and Helena Myllyniemi both attend Greater Victoria Sports Hall of Fame 2025 Inductee Dinner as ambassadors of the club and our sport, club will pay for their tickets. Meeting attendees voted unanimously in favour.
• Club still has 2 portable toilets from outdoor range. Decision was made to look into selling these.
• Club is considering holding some JOP shoots at South Vancouver Island Rangers outdoor archery range. Helena to gauge interest.
• Possibility of holding a summer indoor tournament. Possibly early August, date still TBD.
• Club looking at possibly making club jerseys/shirts available to members for purchase – TBD
