GAC Head to Head shoot (H2H) this Sunday

The GAC Head to Head shoot (H2H)
Sunday 18th August, sighters at 10:00am

Not shot a H2H before? Loved watching the Olympic archery finals?
Then you are in for a treat!

The GAC members Head to Head (H2H) is the same format as all the big UK International competitions Olympic competitions, with two stages:

(1) A qualification round of 6 doz arrows (70m in the Olympics). The results set the H2H match pairing line ups.
then
(2) The H2H where two archers shoot 3-4 mini-rounds of 3 arrows each to decide who goes through to the next round.

Archers then compete head to head until the exciting climax of the Bronze Medal match and the Gold Medal match. (Yes, medals are on offer.)

Here’s the GAC twist! The qualification round and the H2Hs are all shot using handicaps. So, you shoot at a distance to suit you (including Juniors) and your handicap is used to create an allowance (i.e. a head start) in the H2H stage.

We may not be in Paris, (just Normandy….) but we have new score boards and we will be using the timing lights, etc, so it’s pretty much what you see on TV! We also have a super-dooper spreadsheet that does the maths, all you need to do is shoot and score as normal. We will also take a break around lunch time so bring along something to eat if you so desire.

It’s going to be a great day and it’s always so much fun. Just SignUp in the usual way, stating your preferred starting distance (in meters).

See you on the shooting line!
