Upcoming tournaments and archery open house

We wanted to let you know about two upcoming tournaments that will be hosted by the Cowichan Bowmen Archery Club, and Victoria Bowmen members are invited to participate, as well as remind you about an archery open house and drop in shoot at the South Vancouver Island Rangers‘ facility.

MICA Tournament – Sat, Feb 17

This coming Saturday, February 17, the Cowichan Bowmen will be hosting a MICA (Multi-sites Indoor Championships of the Americas) Tournament.

• Onsite registration begins at 8:00am.
• Official practice from 9:00am – 9:45am. First scoring follows.
• Due to limited space this event requires pre-registration to confirm your spot

Cost is:

• $20 for Cowichan members
• $25 for non-members

The event consists of the 18m World Archery Indoor Round, ie one (1) round of sixty (60) arrows, with four age categories of both male and female archers recognized in both the Compound and Recurve divisions.

Canadian Regional Championships – Sat, Mar 2

On Saturday, March 2, the Cowichan Bowmen will be hosting a 1-day event for the Canadian Regional Championships. There will be both an AM & PM Flight.

Flight Info:

• Morning: Warm up 9-9:45AM Scoring Starts at 10am
• Afternoon: Warm up 1:30-2:15PM Scoring starts at 2:30PM

There will be a total of 40 spots so pre-registration will be required as will pre-payment for the event. To secure your spot on the shooting line each archer must email target@cowichanbowmen.com and a registration form with payment instructions will be emailed back to you.

Reminder: Archery Open House at South Vancouver Island Rangers – Sat, Feb 24

Just a reminder that the South Vancouver Island Rangers will be hosting an Archery Drop In Open House in conjunction with our club at their range on Saturday, February 24 at 2PM – 3498 Luxton Road in Langford – and Victoria Bowmen members are invited! Cost is $10 per person with non-shooting observers free. Come in the gate and follow the road over the bridge to the last parking lot, you’ll see the archery butts from there.
