Midsummer fun!
Last Sunday 26 GAC members turned out for the Midsummer Trophy shoot and despite the demands of Father’s day and a less than promising forecast, enjoyed a dry and warm(ish) days shooting.
It’s so nice to see our club gathering and shooting together after the disruptions of the last couple of years, and even nicer to see such a mix of new members and old hands enjoying the fabulous facilities, even if the weather had lost some of the sunshine and warmth of earlier in the week
There were a mix of 12-dozen rounds shot, from York to Bristol 4, with starting distances from 40 yards to 100 yards meaning there was something suitable for everyone.
The usual GAC winds made themselves felt, but there was plenty of laughter and some close fought shooting on all of the targets.
The shoot was scored using AGB handicaps which meant that everyone was in with a chance of winning the magnificent Midsummer trophies.
And to prove the point, the medal winners represented a nice cross-section of bow styles and experience:
Gents
Gold: Sudip Rai
Silver: Tom O’Keefe
Bronze: Colin Cheesley
Ladies
Gold: Ami Tudorache
Silver: Eleanor Cawte
Bronze: Katya Sephton
Juniors
Gold: Meghan Robertson
