Come and Have-A-Go!

This coming Sunday (15th May) the club will be putting on an archery Have-A-Go as part of the ArcheryGB ‘Start Archery Week’.

We are opening the club between 2.00 and 4.00pm to anyone who would like to try their hand at our fabulous sport, for FREE!

The event has been promoted on social media for the last few weeks, and it looks like we may be welcoming a good number of keen budding archers!

Have you got friends or relatives that would like to try archery?

There is no restriction on age and everyone is most welcome, so this could be the perfect opportunity to enable a friend or relative to see what you have been doing when you come to the club, and who knows, they may even get bitten by the archery bug!

Could you help?

We need volunteers to assist with setting up the targets and equipment, help with directing parking and pointing people to the right place, instructing, field captaining, collecting and finding arrows and packing away at the end.

The tutoring is very simple, we will be using fibreglass ‘jelly’ bows and the focus is on getting our visitors to shoot swiftly and safely with the minimum of instruction. It can easily be done by anyone with a minimum of a year’s experience of shooting.

It’s always great fun to introduce people to archery as well as being good for the club by hopefully encouraging new beginners and future members of the club!
