Indoor Championships

On the 27th February, we held the first club trophy shoot of 2022 – our indoor championship at Ash Manor.

19 members turned out to shoot a Portsmouth round (5dozen arrows on a 60 cm face at 20 yards) including recurves, bare bows and longbows. There was some fine shooting and we finished with enough time to spare to finalise the results and present the medals and trophies before everyone went home.

Although it would have been nice for there to have been more members shooting and whilst I realise that we can’t yet say we are completely out of the pandemic woods it was still great to be back to a regular club trophy shoot without all of the Covid restrictions of the last 2 years!

There are plenty of opportunities to join in with club shoots during the coming outdoor season – just have a look at the club shooting diary for the dates and rounds. These are intended as competitive but fun events and are definitely open to ALL members, and many of the shoots are handicapped so that everyone is in with a chance!
