Success at Surrey Field Archery Championships

0 11

On Sunday 7th November 3 Guildford members attended the Surrey Field Archery held at High Ashurst Activity Centre on the slopes of Box Hill.  For November the weather was pleasant and the autumn colour in the trees was at it’s best. This event is always an enjoyable day in the woods and brings the outdoor season to an end.

We were shooting the rather unique National Animal Round with a twist this year and new (slightly Smaller) animal faces making it harder than in previous years.

All 3 members picked up medals in their bow-class. With Malcolm Rees once again winning the country Compound with a score of 620 from a maximum of 640 points.

Matt Sharpe also a county champion winning the Gents Recurve with a score of 505.

Richard FitzGerald taking bronze in the recurve with a score of 455

If you are interested in shooting field archery, please speak to one of the 3 above who can offer some help.  There are also taster days running at nearby Overton Black Arrows a field club near Basingstoke.
