Calling all Superheroes!
Despite Covid Restrictions, we are proud to confirm that the Junior Acorn tournament will be taking place at Normandy on Saturday 17th July, Sighters at 10.30am
The rounds are Westerns, 4 dozen arrows at 2 descending distances: 60/50 , 50/40 , 40/30, 30/20 or 20/10 yards, depending on age and experience.
This will be a great introduction to Competitions for those whose plans over the last 18 months were disrupted by the Pandemic.
The event has a theme of the DC and Marvel universes, Fancy Dress is welcomed but totally optional, we will be playing a lunchtime game involving Infinity Stones! Lots of spot prizes on offer, as well as trophies and medals.
Parents and Carers can book a place for their Juniors on the website. Click on the Open Tournaments button at top right, scroll down to Junior Acorn and follow the simple process. Do it now to avoid disappointment! Colin and Tony will be happy to answer any questions
CAN YOU BE A REAL SUPERHERO?
There is a lot of work to be done to put on the Junior Acorn, and if any parents or carers could help out, it would be much appreciated! The jobs that need doing are pretty straightforward, and if you can spare an hour or so, many hands will make light work.
The help we need is:
FRIDAY 16th
6.00-7.30pm – Preparing the field
Setting out the field – Putting out targets/putting down white lines/cleaning clubhouse toilets
SATURDAY 17th
8.00-10.ooam – Setting Up
Putting up target faces/target and shooting line numbers/waste bins/booking in archers/directing visitors to lanes.
10.ooam-12.00pm – Working Party 1
Helping find lost arrows/moving targets at distance changes/general help for visitors
12.ooam-2.00pm – Working Party 2
Helping find lost arrows/moving targets at distance changes/general help for visitors
2.oopm-4.00pm – Working Party 3
Helping find lost arrows/moving targets at distance changes/general help for visitors
4.00-5.3opm – Packing Up
Putting away targets/numbers/bins etc
