HALF Term is just around the corner, and families can make the most of the time off with a number of activities and events still running across the UK.
Here are some of the best things to do during the holidays, from Gruffalo walks to Halloween nights.
Leeds Castle – Halloween Archery, Leeds
Leeds Castle is open to the public again, with a range of activities.
One is the Halloween Archery where kids can learn how to shoot with a. bow and arrow at targets as well as at pumpkins.

Kew Garden – Gruffalo Walk, London
Meet your favourite Gruffalo characters on the way throughout Kew Gardens, and keep your eyes peeled to spot the Gruffalo himself.
Follow footprints, marks and feathers and figure out clues on the family-friendly trail.
Kids are also encouraged to dress up as the little brown mouse.

Harry Potter Studio Tours – A Celebration of Slytherin, London
New to the attraction is A Celebration of Slytherin, with guests able to walk through the Great Hall decorated in the iconic green Hogwarts house.
The Slytherin Common Room is part of the attraction, with a 25ft section of the set with real props from the film.
It’s open to the public until November 12.

Paultons Park – Peppa’s Halloween, Hampshire
Inside Paultons Park, Peppa Pig World will be transformed into a Halloween attraction, with Grand Pig’s ‘World’s Biggest Pumpkin’ and Mr Skinny Legs the spider.
Kids can spot Peppa as she is dressed up in a spooky outfit along with George.
Thousands of pumpkins will be throughout the park as well, with special late night opening on October 27 and October 29 until 7:30pm.
The event will run from rom October 15 to November 2.

Legoland – Brick of Treat, Windsor
Legoland Windsor Resort is bringing back its Brick or Treat this year.
The newest attraction is the Haunted Lighthouse Halloween Show at Heartlake City, with spooky songs and dances performed.
The popular Brick and Treat Trail is also back, where kids have to find Monster Rockers hidden Halloween Surprises, as well as the Haunted House Monster Party Ride with Lord Vampyre.
It will run from October 15 to November 8.

Thorpe Park – Fright Night, Chertsey
Enjoy a cabaret of carnage in the Fearstival arena at Thorpe Park’s Fright Night, and escape from the family of lunatic lumberjacks in Creak Freaks Unchained.
Visitors can also enter a dystopian wasteland after dark as The Swarm invades, leaving a path of carnage and desolation in its wake.
The park will open from 10am to 9pm on October 9 and 11, and October 16 to November 1.
Alton Towers – Scarefest, Staffordshire
Scarefest at Alton Towers has a brand new attraction, Toxic Junkyard, as well as the return of The Attic: Terror of the Towers – home to the revenge-driven Governess ghost – and Altonville Mine Tours – home to the terrifying Skin Snatchers.
New this year is the Garden Lights Walk: Whispering Souls, a free experience for all ages where guests can walk through the park’s gardens with exciting and scary new experiences throughout.
Young children can also take part in the CBeebies Land Monster Ball in CBeebies Land, where they are invited to dress up in their favourite outfits.
Scarefest starts from October 9 for a limited two days, then will run from October 16 to November 1.

Cadbury World – Halloween Spooktacular, Birmingham
Cadbury World has their own scary event this half-term.
Attractions include the Freddo Haunted Mansion where guests can help the frog uncover a mystery ghost through games, while the 4D Chocolate Adventure Ride sees kids ride the Crunchie rollercoaster and dive into a vat of liquid chocolate through the cinematic experience.
Of course, free chocolate can be tried at the Chocolate Making zone, which families can walk through themselves – as well as have a go at piping their names in chocolate in the Have A Go zone.
It will run from October 17 to November 1.
