Are you ready to come back to shooting?
Over the last weekend, over 40 GAC members enjoyed a socially-distanced return to shooting at Normandy.
The arrangements put in place by your committee all seemed to work well, including:
- Setting out 10, wide lanes, with one archer (or family group) per boss
- Clearly marked space behind the shooting line to make it simple to maintain 2 metre social distancing
- Individual target faces and target pins provided for all members to keep and re-use
- Separate arrival and exit routes
- Clubhouse closed (except for emergency and/or first aid access)
- A non-shooting Field Captain to ensure safe shooting and guidance on maintaining compliance to Coronavirus protection recommendations.
- Shooting days divided into 2-hour sessions to ensure fair access for all
- A simple to use online booking available for members
Many will still understandably be nervous about the easing of lockdown, and may not be ready to venture out, but if you would like to come back and shoot at GAC, you will be very welcome, and we hope that you will find the new arrangements reassuring and simple to use.
