[Archery] Archery wins bronze in men's bowhunter team competition
Georgetown College archery tallied its first win in program history, picking up a bronze medal in the men's team bowhunter competition at the US Collegiate Archery's South and East Region Intercollegiate Archery Championships in Williamsburg, Ky.
The way the tournament works is the top three men from a team are paired together to go head-to-head with another school. GC currently does not have enough men in this class, so the rules allow for the next two highest shooters which were women Mika Gray and Gabrielle Combs.
Paired with Dummer, the team had to compete in the men's tournament. They first took on Midway University and won in the quarterfinals, 115-91.
This advanced them into the semifinals with host University of the Cumberlands. UC won 213-131, but GC bounced back with a win in the third-place competition against University of Pikeville.
Georgetown beat UPike, 139-137.
