Every time you don’t speak your mind in a meeting, that’s a fiver. Every time you wake up late and snorf a drive-through breakfast, the same amount of money you paid for the hockey-puck sandwich goes in, too. Off-label benefit: By the time you jump out of a plane, you’ll already be harder, better, faster and stronger.

Keep the Change

Did you know about this super-cool thing? At some banks, you can sign up for an automatic savings program that constantly goes around giving your savings little nibbles. Here’s how it works: When you make a purchase with the debit card associated with that account, the bank will automatically round up your purchase up to the nearest dollar and deposit that difference into a savings account. Buying a smoothie that’s $5.68? Your card will be charged $6.00, with 32 cents dropping straight into your skydive savings. You’ll probably end up with a couple of dollars a day appearing in there, as if by magic. You’ll never miss it.

Throw Dead Weight Out of the Plane of your Life

Okay, that’s a little dramatic, but hear us out: Skydiving is about freedom. Right? Being weighed down is the opposite of freedom. Also right? Well: One of the world’s most time-tried methods of making extra money is by going through your garage and your closets and your storage space (and, and, and) and gathering up the things that are still worth something to somebody but just hold you back now. The motorcycle you haven’t ridden in three years that you’re still, for some reason, insuring? Yeah. The motorboat that’s been in drydock since you married your seasick spouse? Uh-huh. The leather jacket your ex gave you? Definitely. You’d be shocked at how quickly you can experience the freedom of a skydive after you experience some strategic freedom from unnecessary stuff.
